Todays activities will be based on Jack and the Beanstalk: 

Firstly, can you listen to the story. If you don’t have the book, can you listen to it online or watch a video of the story on youtube. 

1. Can you create your own beanstalk craft – you could use a kitchen roll tube and add leaves for the Giant and Jack to climb up. Alternatively, you could use handprints and see how tall you can make your beanstalk! You could use real leaves and stick them on a piece of paper to make your beanstalk. 

2. Practice your counting skills by numbering leaves and adding the correct amount of ‘magic beans’ (could use stones, pom poms, sequins etc) to each leaf. 

3. Can you create your own ‘Giant’ craft? You could draw around a grown up or get a grown up to draw around you. Decorate as you please! 

4. Can you create your own Beanstalk from lego blocks or duplo blocks. How tall can you make your Beanstalk? You could add your beanstalk to a tray and add shaving foam as the ‘clouds’. 

5. In the story, Jack cuts down the beanstalk. Can you practice your cutting? Practice cutting different materials such as paper, card, leaves, spaghetti etc. 

6. The giant in the story lives in a big castle. Can you create your own castle? You could build it using a natural resources outdoors such as sticks and stones or could use a cardboard box and make it into a big castle. 

7. Can you write your create your own story review? Write the names of the characters, the main events of the story, draw your own pictures of the characters. Did you like the story?
