Toddlers and Pre-school have been enjoying ‘Room on the Broom’. Here are some activities linked to the story. 

1. Can you read the story with Mommy or Daddy or alternatively you could listen to the story online (youtube). 

2. Can you create a craft of one of the different animals? 

3. Can you make your own potion. Use water, jugs, leaves, sticks etc. What will happen if someone drinks your potion? 

4. Can you make your own broomstick craft? You could make a ‘real’ one using a big stick, some string and some twigs. Alternatively, you could make your own Magic Wand craft. 

5. Throughout the story, there are lots of different rhyming words. Are you able to think of some rhyming words of your own? See if you could make a rhyming string. You could do this by playing ‘Silly Soup’. Use a container and add in 3-4 things that all rhyme. 

6. Can you create your own book review. What was your favourite part of the story? 

7. Make your own witches hat. 

Babies have been enjoying ‘Whatever Next’. 

1. Can you read/listen to the story together online. 

2. Can you create your own Rocket Craft using a kitchen/toilet roll tube and some craft materials? 

3. Can you create a 3D rocket that you can sit in to fly to the moon? 

4. Can you make some space playdough to explore; 2 cups flour, 1 cup water and a TBSP of oil. You could add a little black paint and some glitter to make it sparkly. 

5. Have a go at make your own space sensory bottle. 

6. In the story, Baby Bear flies to the moon. Can you create your own moon craft? Scrunch up some tin foil and dip it in paint to print your moon onto paper.
