| A word from the Headmistress // A word from the Director // History of the School | |
History of the SchoolThe history of Norfolk House School goes back more than seventy years. Originally called Garry House School, it was located in Fountain Road, Edgbaston. It moved to its present location in 1963 and was re-founded in 1967 as Norfolk House School. The school is now owned by the Challinor family, a member of which has been on the board of directors since 1967. The directors work closely with the Headmistress to ensure that the school remains a safe and stimulating environment in which the pupils may develop a life-long love of learning. The school has always responded to the changing demands of society without losing sight of its ethos. The process of modernisation and updating is constant, but never done purely for its own sake. The school adopts the best practices of the present and combines them with the tried and tested ones of the past. Over the years, the school has built a well-earned reputation as one of the foremost independent preparatory schools in the Midlands. |
