Welcome to Norfolk House Nursery
Norfolk House Nursery opened its doors in September 2009. It occupies a spacious and lovingly restored Victorian house adjacent to Norfolk House School, and provides full time and sessional day care for a maximum of 52 children between the ages of 3 months and 4 years.
We firmly believe that a nursery should provide much more than a child minding service. Children are learning all the time. We regard it as our duty to provide them with the fullest possible opportunity to learn and develop in a relaxed but purposeful environment and to prepare them for the start of their school careers. To that end, we have done two things. First, and most importantly, we have recruited highly qualified and experienced staff who share our ethos, love their work and regard the safety of your child as paramount. We understand that any nursery, indeed any organisation, is only as good as the people within it. It is they who uphold its values and shape its destiny; it is their dedication, expertise and enthusiasm which are its lifeblood.
Second, we have a created a bright, airy and stimulating environment in which your child will feel both at ease and inspired. Working closely with Community Playthings (www.communityplaythings.co.uk), a leading nursery furniture manufacturer whose experience spans nearly ninety years, we have designed the rooms with painstaking attention to detail. They encompass a variety of activity areas including role-play, science and discovery, construction, art, wet play and literacy. Each room is furnished with solid maple furniture, hand-crafted and supplied by Community Playthings.
And then there are the grounds: a secure and beautifully landscaped area at the rear of the building comprising a large lawn, trees and a “secret garden” which will both fire your child’s imagination and provide them with plenty of fresh air and exercise.
