Fees and AdmittanceParents of prospective pupils are warmly invited to visit the school, meet the staff and see our work in action. The majority of children enter at 3 years of age and progress to the Main School. However, children may enter at any age and we welcome new pupils from elsewhere to Norfolk House. Applicants for entry to the Main School are invited to attend for an assessment visit which comprises spending time with their prospective form and sitting tests in English, Mathematics, reading and verbal Reasoning where applicable. The formal offer of a place in the Main School depends solely upon the outcome of the assessment. FeesNorfolk House School’s fees are competitive. They are enhanced by discounts for fees paid during the first week of term and upon admittance of a further child from the same family. Fees are payable in full a term in advance. One scholarship is awarded to a pupil already at the school for academic ability and potential. The other scholarship is awarded to a pupil joining the school aged 9 years or above. The award of each depends upon the results of scholarship examinations in Mathematics, English and Verbal Reasoning. NoticeWhen the parents accept the formal offer of a place (by signing the Registration Form and paying the registration fee), a contract arises between the parents and the school. Under that contract the parents are committed to pay the first term’s fees. Thereafter, a clear term’s notice of intention to withdraw a child must be given in writing to the Headmistress, or a term’s fees paid in lieu. Late Payment SurchargeNorfolk House School reserves the right to impose a 5% surcharge for fees paid after the first two weeks of term. Methods of PaymentSchool fees may be paid by credit / debit card or cheque. Cash cannot be accepted. Please make cheques payable to NORFOLK HOUSE SCHOOL and write your child’s name and form number on the reverse of the cheque. Please send the cheque with the tear off slip from the bottom of your invoice sheet in an envelope clearly marked with your child’s name and form. AbsenceNo remission of fees came be made for absence in the case of illness, accident, holidays taken during term time or the closing of the school in any circumstances beyond the control of the school. HolidaysHolidays during term time should always be avoided, but in exceptional circumstances application should be made to the Headmistress for leave of absence. Other MattersThe school reserves the right to discontinue the education of any pupil whose work or conduct is considered unsatisfactory.
